Care Instructions

At Noito Studio, we wash over 100 kilograms of wool a year. The water from the wash flows near our house and heads towards the river. Even just washing with hot water washes away a lot of grease and mud from the wool. We normally use laundry soap, but the alkaline concentration of the waste water becomes too high, so we wash the wool with only hot water.

When the yarn comes back from the factory, it is washed again in hot water because it contains industrial oils and wool grease. If you have not used the yarn for a while after purchasing it, it may become oily, dusty, or stiff. We deliver it in skeins so that you can wash it again in your preferred way.

The yarn and finished products cannot be washed in a washing machine or dryer. They can be dried on a spin cycle. Hand wash and dry flat. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners. Use detergent for wool or a neutral detergent. The lanolin contained in wool prevents dirt from sticking, and wool is also excellent at retaining heat, absorbing moisture, being durable, and preventing odors.

At the end of the season, wash them and dry them thoroughly, taking care to avoid insect damage when storing them.
